Be kind to your plants in the warmer weather

We may all enjoy the warmer weather that spring and summer bring, but hot, dry summers can be testing for plants.

High temperatures speed up the normal living process of plants and so the hotter it gets, the more they suffer. Hot soil can also hinder while warm, dry wind causes moisture loss from the plant's leaves. Of course, plants continually lose water through evaporation, but when that moisture evaporates more quickly than the plant is able to replace it, you’ve got a problem.

The self-watering solution

Self–watering containers really come into their own during the summer months. Not only do they reduce maintenance for councils, local authorities, Britain in Bloom groups and gardeners, they create optimal conditions for growth – meaning that your Amberol self-watering planters can help you grow the biggest and most beautiful floral displays. Because self-watering planters supply moisture and nutrients to plants as and when they need it, your plants will stay fit and healthy – just ensure the water reservoir is topped up once a week.

If you are interested in trying out one of our self-watering planters, here’s a little sample of our wide range. All our planters are made from recyclable polyethylene.
