Blooming in Bratislava

At Amberol we are best known for the self-watering planters and bins we supply for use in the public realm here in the UK. However we also work with several partners abroad including in America, Belgium and India. In the central European country of Slovakia, we have worked with a company called Kulla, based in the capital Bratislava, for the last ten years. 

Family first 

Just like Amberol, Kulla is a family-owned business with a passion for everything green both in terms of horticulture and sustainability. As a well-established and respected garden centre and plant supplier, Kulla work with many Bratislava-based councils to supply products for the city’s floral displays. These include Amberol planters featuring the unique Aquafeed™ self-watering system that reduces labour, saves money  and promotes plant health by reducing the amount of watering a plant needs and eliminating the possibility of over watering. 

Beautiful Bratislava 

The capital of Slovakia sits on the banks of the Danube River, in the south west of the country near the border of Austria and Hungary. With a population of just 450,000 and a pedestrian-only 18th century Old Town, bustling with cafes and restaurants, this is not a capital city as we would recognise it in the UK; however it is all the more charming for that. With its grand buildings, baroque castle and medieval towers, it provides a magnificent backdrop to the floral displays that enhance the city every summer. 

Planters fit for a capital 

Amberol’s relationship with Kulla began when we started supplying them with our self-watering half-unit planters. We then progressed to providing our range of floor-standing planters, with our stylish beehive tiered planter fast becoming a firm favourite, thanks to the tiered floral displays that can easily be created in it to stunning effect.  Our up-the-pole planters are also skilfully used to adorn the lampposts outside some of Bratislava’s most imposing buildings.
