Ambere wins the Bins World Cup
Football might not have come home this summer, but England can still celebrate a World Cup win – courtesy of Amberol's Ambere bin.
In what may be the internet's most gloriously unexpected sporting event, Amberol's Ambere Bin has been crowned champion of the Bins World Cup, representing England in a worldwide social media tournament organised by the legendary Bins of Congleton (our favourite “binfluencer”) from his Instagram account.
Yes, really. And yes, we're absolutely thrilled about it.
48 Nations. 48 Bins. One champion
Over several weeks, Bins of Congleton has been running a knockout-style World Cup tournament featuring bins representing 48 nations from around the globe.
What started as a brilliantly daft idea quickly gathered momentum. Since the competition launched on June 11, an incredible 210,000 votes have been cast and after 103 'matches' played out
on Instagram stories until the World Cup winner (Ambere!) was announced on 28 July 2026.

England vs Malaysia: the final
After weeks of fierce competition, the final came down to:
England - represented by our very own Ambere Bear Bin
vs
Malaysia - represented by a worthy pelican bin from the other side of the world.
The voting was tense; the anticipation was unbearable (or should that be un-bear-able?).
And then it happened.
England won.
Or, more specifically, a cheerful bear-shaped litter bin made by Amberol won.
We'll take it.
